BLO.TORCH Cover GOLDEN EARRING For Tribute CD

September 18, 2005

Dutch death metallers BLO.TORCH have posted the following message on their official web site:

"A couple of months ago, we were asked to participate in a secret project.
Holland's biggest rock band, GOLDEN EARRING, has its 40-year anniversary this year. As a surprise for the band and to celebrate, the city of The Hague (hometown of the band) decided to record a tribute CD with 13 bands from the Hague, playing GOLDEN EARRING songs. The CD was presented to the band earlier this month, at a concert in The Hague. BLO.TORCH was one of the 13 bands, representing the metal genre. We recorded our version of the GOLDEN EARRING classic 'Back Home'. The CD was handed out at the concert and is not for sale in stores. But it can probably be ordered through the GOLDEN EARRING tribute web site."

BLO.TORCH's sophomore album, "Volatile", was self-financed made available late last year via the band's official web site and at their concerts. The follow-up to 1999's "Blo.torch" (Wicked World) was produced by Hans Pietersen at Excess Studio in Rotterdam, Holland.
